    Carrie "Mudfoot" Stambaugh is a writer, editor and photographer based in Ashland, Ky.

    She writes about agriculture, personalities, culture, history, politics, local government, schools, business, travel, the great outdoors and her life adventures.


    Carrie's work has recently appeared in: The Greater Ashland Beacon, Greenup News, The Independent, Ironton Tribune, Bridges, Blue Ridge Country, Kentucky Farm Bureau News, Huntington Quarterly, Back Home in Kentucky and Tri-State Living.

    She is also partner and the managing editor of Kentucky Angling News, an online outdoor magazine.
    Carrie is a proud member of the Kentucky Outdoor Press Association.

    A dedicated public watch dog, Carrie has worked as a staff reporter for four small to mid-size newspapers in the Appalachian region of southeast Ohio and eastern Kentucky during the course of her career. During her five year tenure as a staff writer at The Independent, in Ashland, Ky. her work
    was frequently recognized by the Kentucky Press Association.

    In order to engage her own passion for being part of efforts to improve her own community, Carrie is a frequent volunteer with a range of local non-profits organizations and is involved in numerous outdoor recreation initiatives in eastern Kentucky.
